FEE SCHEDULE

Fees for Mediation and Arbitration Services:

The following fee schedule addresses all two party mediations in the National Capital Region. Please call for fees and expenses for mediations outside the National Capital Region.

Full Day (6 hours): $2,200.00                               Half Day (3 hours): $1,200.00

These rates include case administration, pre-mediation preparation and consultation (up to two hours), the mediation session and travel time. Additional preparation time (beyond two hours) and mediation session time is charged at $300 per hour. A facilities cost, when required, is charged in addition to the fees noted above. There is a further fee of $300 added to the above for each additional party to the mediation.

Fees for continuing mediations (mediations that are originally booked to include multiple sessions) are charged at a rate of $300 per hour for all work including case administration, correspondence, pre-mediation preparation, mediation session time, and reporting.

 

Cancellation Policy  

If a mediation or arbitration is cancelled or postponed at the request of any party for     any reason, all fees and disbursements incurred to that point shall be paid by the party requesting the cancellation or postponement.

If cancellation or postponement occurs within two weeks of the event, the cancellation
fee is $1200 per day (or $600 per 1/2 day) cancelled plus any expenses, including venue rentals, incurred to date.  

If cancellation or postponement occurs within one week of the event, the cancellation
fee is the full fee for the day, or ½ day, cancelled plus any expenses, including venue rentals, incurred to date.  

Payment

For mediation and arbitration services, accounts are divided equally among the parties and are addressed to the lawyers representing the parties unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. If the case involves an unrepresented party or parties then a deposit equal to that party's or parties' share of the total estimated account must be received at least 10 business days prior to the mediation unless alternative arrangements are made in advance.   All accounts are due and payable when rendered. Overdue accounts bear interest at 12% per annum, calculated and payable monthly.
